let you down was written and recorded on the spot on my living room floor during a late difficult parenting night, april 2024, break the silence with song on a windy night as storms move through my boys and through my heart and through my boys and through. brew a hot cup of tea. no tea cups are clean. i don’t want to sit with regret for how i could have done better. but i’m sitting away from you now. eyes puffed and nights like these make them older, not wiser. have i let you down. have i let you down. it kills me now to think i might be letting you down.
